Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Meet the Las Vegas Team Behind Alcott Chimney Las Vegas

We’re a local crew that’s been climbing Las Vegas rooftops and kneeling in front of fireplaces since 2002. What unites us isn’t a corporate mission statement. It’s simpler than that: nobody here wants their name on a job that wasn’t done right. Every technician you’ll meet below is background-checked and identity-verified under the Threshold Standard before they ever set foot on your property. You’ll know their name and see their photo before we arrive. That’s not an upgrade. It’s how we’ve always worked.

Our People

Ruben Castellano – Owner, Alcott Chimney Las Vegas

Ruben started Alcott Chimney Las Vegas in 2002 after spending his early years in the trades watching too many homeowners get sold repairs they couldn’t verify. He built the company around a simple rule: nothing gets recommended unless the customer can see the evidence with their own eyes, whether that’s a camera inspection photo or a physical sample of what we pulled out of the flue. Ruben still answers the phone when he’s not on a job site, and he’ll tell you plainly if a sweep can wait or if a liner genuinely needs attention. He carries DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield products because those are the brands chimney professionals actually specify, not whatever’s cheapest at the supply house. When Ruben isn’t working, he’s usually grilling something that takes longer than it should, which his family tolerates because the results are usually worth it.

Mike D. – Lead Technician

Mike has been with Alcott Chimney Las Vegas for eleven years, and there isn’t a fireplace configuration in Summerlin, Henderson, or Centennial Hills he hasn’t seen. He’s certified in HeatShield resurfacing and has installed more DuraFlex liner systems than he can count, though he’ll tell you the number is somewhere north of four hundred. Mike is the guy who can diagnose a draft problem in ten minutes because he’s already fixed the same issue on a hundred other Las Vegas homes. Off the clock, he restores old motorcycles, which means he approaches every chimney with the same patience most people reserve for a carburetor rebuild.

Sarah T. – Senior Installer

Sarah joined the crew eight years ago after working in commercial HVAC, which gave her a head start on understanding airflow and venting that most chimney techs learn the hard way. She specializes in gas fireplace repair and liner installation, and she’s the one we send when a job requires careful masonry work around a chimney crown. Sarah is Famco and Olympia Chimney certified, and she’s known on the team for the cleanest work truck you’ll ever see. She swears it’s about efficiency, not pride, but nobody believes her.

Jason R. – Service Coordinator

Jason is the voice on the other end of the line when you call (725) 227-7352. He’s been with Alcott Chimney Las Vegas for six years and knows the Las Vegas Valley well enough to tell you whether your neighborhood typically sees more creosote buildup from wood burning or dust accumulation from a gas fireplace. Before joining us, Jason worked in residential property management, so he understands what homeowners actually need to know, not just what a service company wants to tell them. He’s the one who makes sure every customer gets a written price before work begins, no exceptions. Jason is also the team’s unofficial weather watcher, which matters more than you’d think when every job starts with someone getting on a roof.

Luis M. – Apprentice Technician

Luis is the newest member of the crew, now in his second year with Alcott Chimney Las Vegas. He’s training under Mike and Sarah, learning the trade the right way: inspections first, camera work second, and no tool touching a flue until he understands exactly what he’s looking at and why. Luis grew up in North Las Vegas and takes a particular interest in the older mid-century homes around the valley, many of which have chimneys that were built before modern liner standards existed. He asks a lot of questions, which is exactly what we want from someone who’ll eventually be responsible for the safety of someone else’s home.

One Standard, Every Job

The Threshold Standard isn’t a slogan we put on a website and forget. It’s how every person on this page operates, every day, on every job. Before any technician arrives at your door, they’ve already passed a background check and identity verification. They’ll arrive in a uniform, wearing a photo ID badge, and you’ll already know their name and face from the notification we send ahead of time. Every job gets a written price before work begins. Every repair gets a written guarantee, and if that repair fails within the coverage period, we come back and fix it at no charge. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means we stand behind the work for a full year. Ruben Castellano built this company on the idea that a chimney company should be easy to trust, and that starts with the people who show up at your door.
